These industries represent select areas of focus for Significant Partners’ Merchant Banking. (There’s substantial overlap between the industries.)

Business Services Companies that provide various services to commercial businesses, establishments, and organizations, including consulting, advertising and marketing services, and facilities maintenance. This also includes security services, IT outsourcing, transaction processing, customer support and business process outsourcing.

Chemicals Companies that manufacture and/or distribute chemicals, including basic, intermediate, and specialty chemicals; petrochemicals; plastic resins and materials used in synthetic fibers; agrochemicals; and paints and coatings.

Communications Companies that provide voice, data, and video communications services including: wireless voice and data, competitive providers, towers and infrastructure, support services, wireless spectrum and other infrastructure and other selective last-mile solutions.

Consumer Products and Services Companies that provide products services primarily to consumers. Consumer Products includes apparel, cleaning products, hand and power tools, home furniture, housewares, linens, and consumer electronics and appliances among others. Consumer Services includes death care, hair care, photo processing, portrait photography, auto repair, optical, weight/health, rent-to-own, and laundry services.

Direct Marketing/Marketing Services Companies that provide promotional messages to potential customers on an individual basis via mail, telephone, or e-mail.

Distribution Companies that distribute finished goods from its manufacturer to either retail channel or direct to an end user.

Education Academic institutions; vocational, elementary, and secondary schools; and companies that provide educational and training services.

Energy Companies that provide energy products, including crude oil, natural gas, and refined petroleum; utility services, including the generation of electricity, the transmission and distribution of electricity, natural gas, and water; and/or the marketing and trading of energy commodities.

Financial Services Companies that provide products and services to facilitate the flow of money, such as credit and related services; investment-related services; oversight services, including accounting, regulatory agencies, and data oversight; stock exchange; and associated marketing services.
